Since opening in June, 2000, Trina's Soul Food Cafe has become the center of African-American cuisine in the North Park neighborhood of San Diego. Earning a 3-star rating (excellent) by the San Diego Reader, Trina's has become a mecca for those who love soul food and genuine country cooking.

Trina Jones is a native San Diegan, attending Lincoln High School and playing on the girls' basketball team. She went on to play basketball at Edward Water College in Jacksonville, Florida.

Trina learned to cook from her grandmother Ollie Mae Bowman, who was a chef at the New Orleans Hilton and various country clubs in the New Orleans area. When we say Trina makes genuine Southern-Style Soul Food, we mean it.
